eating: rice and beans.
missing: dark chocolate (any chocolate!)
learning: ‘African babies do not cry’ is a myth – at least according to the baby next door!
making: passionfruit curd, mousse, ice blocks, slice – our vines are prolific!
thinking about: how stress manifests. Neither of us feel particularly stressed but we are both displaying the sleep behaviours (talking/walking) that normally accompany strain for us.
feeling: hungry. Is it because crossing cultures takes so much energy? Or because our (basically vegetarian) diet has less protein?
listening: for rogue mossies inside the mosquito net.
smelling: body odour – and not being bothered by it!
wanting: green bags – way too much plastic here!
hoping: to make Tanzanian friends.
weirded out by: the tomato sauce here. I thought Australian tomato sauce was loaded with preservatives and sugar until I saw the PINK Tanzanian stuff!
promising: to teach our language tutor how to do a Tim Tam Slam.

What a great way to make new friends…a Tim Tam Slam, the ultimate strategy for breaking down the cultural barriers. Love your list today and love hearing how you are getting on in Tanzania…thanks for keeping us in the loop back here in Aus, I’m telling all my friends to follow along too.
