Elliot has started preschool at an English-medium school where there seems to be a whole lot of Swahili going on. We’re not sure of the exact balance or how much he’ll pick up of what.
Since he started 2 or 3 weeks ago, we have been puzzling over the words to one of the songs he’s been singing. It sounds like it’s in English and yet some of it was unrecognisable to us. We worked it out eventually, at which point we realised he was singing it as he’s been taught – with a strong Tanzanian accent. Here’s the chorus. Can you work out what the words are?

It’s an embedded video, Mum. Maybe turn your iPad up the other way? ;)
I’m voting for “education… is the way!” :-) very cute.
You got it much faster than us Mara! (We’d never heard of it before – is it a Sesame Street song or something?)
Nope, never heard it either, just guessed the words with the clue you gave- the Tanzanian accent! :-)
Although I just searched YouTube and found this! Bingo!
